While I can't say I absolutely agree with this old saying, for me at least this has been true. The move from a big old house near the bay to a small acreage where I can live and work with my horses has been so refreshing and positively life changing. I no longer have a long commute to hold therapy sessions, living with the horses has created a much stronger bond between us. Plus I can plan my therapy space to suit the way I work, which as you know is to blend Equine Assisted Therapy with Creative Art Therapy, in all its forms. I will soon have space for drumming, space to hold group workshops, space to work with clay, mosaic, sand tray and space to work with nature, as eco psychotherapy is another modality I use. However a client chooses to work, the horses can act as witness and hold space for them. The shady undulating pastures and dam (when it rains eventually!) provide many spaces to sit in quiet meditation or create art.
It has been my therapy for the past ten weeks to create this space for clients, and now it is my pleasure to offer it to you. My first group workshop 'Caring for Carers' is on 29th October and is at a special reduced rate of $60pp. One on one sessions for new clients are available from 30th October, and can be booked directly from my website, via email or phone. I am able to see NDIS clients who are self managed or plan managed.
